ART PIECES on the wall fill a void in your living space. Carpets on the floor add both texture and an exciting aesthetic dimension.
Carpets have evolved dramatically since the last decade with the emergence of new materials, print technology and weave technique. Bespoke options allow you to create your own carpet for your environment – while either working with your interior designer or managing the project yourself.
If the idea seems daunting, carpet companies such as FloorArtz will guide you every step of the way. They have successfully completed projects at Four Seasons Singapore, Resorts World Sentosa and The Black Pearl, which was awarded the DNA Paris Design Award 2025.

"We worked with Susanna Fong and the FloorArtz team on a series of hand-tufted rugs for a recent project, and the experience was seamless from start to finish. The design team was professional, detail-oriented, and understood our vision with clarity and precision. There are many vendors who offer quality products—but FloorArtz stands out for pairing craftsmanship with consistently excellent service."

A CHAT WITH THE FLOORARTZ TEAM: SUSANNA FONG AND SARBAJIT GUHA

"Our customization process is designed to be simple and collaborative, even if you do not have a design background."

1. What carpet material would be ideal for a residential space in Singapore?
Wool – Natural, luxurious feel. Naturally resilient, helps maintain shape, and is relatively stain resistant.
Nylon – Very durable and resilient; one of the most common materials for residential carpeting because it handles traffic and does not crush easily.

2. FloorArtz offers bespoke customization for carpet flooring. What is the process?
Our customization process is designed to be simple and collaborative, even if you do not have a design background. Here’s how it works:
1. Consultation – brief discussion to understand your space, colour preferences, traffic level and budget.
2. Design proposal – Layout and pattern options are presented based on your input.
3. Sample development – A small carpet sample is created for review.
4. Final layout and production – After approval, layout drawings are confirmed and production begins.
5. Installation – Carpet product is delivered and installers for inset carpets are assigned.

3. What are the advantages of having a carpet?
1. Acoustics – A carpet is effective for reducing acoustic levels as it helps to absorb noises such as footsteps, cutlery, chit chat and music.
2. Non-slip – Carpet is good for families with children and the elderly as it is non-slip and cushions a fall for a softer landing.
3. Enhanced indoor air quality – A carpet can improve indoor air quality by serving as a passive filter. It traps allergens such as dust and pollen within its fibres, preventing these irritants from circulating in the air.

4. What carpet flooring will be popular in 2026 in terms of colour, patterns, material and texture?
Carpet trends in 2026 lean into warmth, natural inspiration and tactile richness. On the colour front, neutrals evolve into warmer tones like clay, terracotta, sandstone, taupe and desert beige. Pantone Colour of the Year 2026 is Cloud Dancer – an off-white natural colour tone.
Patterns – Geometric and architectural motifs such as herringbone and chevron.
Textures – Ribbed and loop textures replace flat weaves. Plush piles convey luxury for living areas.
Materials – Strong sustainability focus and nature such as wool, recycled fibres and sisal.
